Sankashti Chaturthi

Sankashti Chaturthi – also known as Sankatahara Chaturthi OR Sankashtahara Chaturthi is the fourth day of the Krishna Paksha in the Lunar month of Hindu Calendar. This day is dedicated to Lord Ganesha.

If Sankashti Chaturthi falls on Tuesday, then it is called Angaraki Sankashti Chaturthi. And, Angaraki Sankashti Chaturthi is considered highly important among all Sankashti Chaturthi days.

Devotees observe fast throughout the day and break the fast after having the auspicious sight of Moon (Chandra Darshan) followed by the pooja to Lord Ganesha.

The fast is supposed to be strict and only fruits, roots, and vegetables are supposed to be consumed. Devotees break the fast at night after sighting of the moon.

Lord Ganesha is known to be the remover of all obstacles and the one who worship Lord Ganesha on this sacred day, get rid of all their problems and devotees who offer prayers to Lord Ganpati, get blessed with desired wish fulfillments, happiness and proseprity.
