Ingredients Green Gram Whole (Moong) 1 Measure Green Gram Split (Moong Dal) 1/2 Measure Rice 1 Measure Ghee 3 tablespoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera) 2 tablespoon Chilly Powder 1 1/2 tablespoon Curry Leaves 3 Water as required Salt to taste
How to Prepare Khara Pongal Dish?
Heat 3 tablespoon of ghee in pressure cooker (Step1)
Add half measure of moong dal (Step-2)
Add 1 measure of green gram (Step-3)
Saute it until you get pleasant smell. (Step-3)
Now add rinsed rice (Step-4)
Mix Well (Step-4)
Add Cumin Seeds (Jeera) (Step-5)
Add Chilly Powder (Step-5)
Again, Mix all the ingredients in the pressure cooker (Step-6)
Add 3 tumblerful of water or as required (Step-7)
Now, add salt as required (Step-8)
Easy and Quick Method of Preparing Ven pongal (Step-9)
Add curry leaves (Step-10)
Close the pressure cooker lid (Step-11)
Pressure cook for 2 whistles (Step-12)
Once the pressure settles down, heat 2 tbsp of ghee in a pan (Step-13)
Add cashew to it (Step-14)
Saute it until cashew turns golden brown (Step-15)
Open the Pressure Cooker and mix well. (Step-16)
Serve prepared Khara Pongal to a plate (Step-17)
